FAQs

Where can I collect my play equipment?

The Spielkistl warehouse is located in the Ebersberg industrial area at Anzingerstr. 10a, 85560 Ebersberg.

Can I still pay in cash at Spielkistl?

No, we have switched exclusively to cashless payment. This significantly reduces staffing requirements, which represent the largest cost factor at Spielkistl.
Exceptions are not possible – staff are no longer permitted to accept cash.

Why have prices at Spielkistl been increased significantly in some cases?

Contrary to the unfortunately incorrect portrayal in the past, Spielkistl has incurred a substantial financial deficit every year. As Spielkistl is a voluntary service provided by the district and municipal finances are under considerable pressure, we were forced to raise prices to a realistic level. At the same time, the social price is intended to ensure that people on lower incomes continue to have access to rentals. All political parties in the district council shared this view and unanimously approved the price adjustment.

Why do I have to pay for five days when renting from Monday to Friday (outside the Whitsun and summer holidays), but only one day when renting from Monday to Thursday?

Personnel costs are by far the largest cost factor at Spielkistl. By reducing opening days to Friday through Monday, we are able to lower these costs. In return, customers have the option to use the equipment for four days while paying for only one day if it is needed from Monday to Thursday. However, if Friday is included in the booking, we assume the products are required for five days and consider the price appropriate.

Important information: If you would like to book something between Monday and Thursday (outside of school holidays), this is possible! Always book on Monday and return on Friday. The system is set up so that you only pay for one day.

Why do I now pay per product instead of per booking as before?

It is neither economical nor fair for an unlimited number of play items to be rented at a flat “package price.” Please carefully consider which items you truly need. In the past, it often happened that carts were filled with many products due to the flat rate, only for some of them to be “no longer needed” at pickup. This prevented other residents from accessing the equipment.

Why do I now pay per day instead of per booking as before?

It is neither economical nor fair for rental costs to be independent of rental duration. The longer an item is needed, the higher the cost — similar to rental cars or hotel rooms.

Is Spielkistl open on weekends?

Yes, from April through October, Spielkistl is also open to customers on Saturdays and Sundays.

Can I place an order by phone or email?

In justified exceptional cases, ordering on invoice is possible via spielkistl@lra-ebe.de, for example if you do not have the ability to pay online.

By phone, the Spielkistl team can be reached on opening days from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at 0151/55058709. Please note that during periods of high customer volume, longer waiting times may occur and you may be called back.

When do I need to return the play equipment?

We assume that you will return your items on the next day that Spielkistl is open following your last booking day. This is stipulated in our rental conditions.

Can I receive an invoice or receipt?

You will automatically receive an invoice by email once payment has been received. If you are booking on behalf of an association or organisation, the organisation’s name will be shown on the invoice.

Do I need to arrange a blower for a bouncy castle myself?

No, the bouncy castle rental includes a blower, a ground sheet, and an entrance mat for children’s shoes.

Do I need a high-voltage power supply for the bouncy castle blower?

No, a standard household socket (230 volts) is sufficient. You will also receive a safety adapter with an integrated residual current device (RCD). Please plug the adapter into the socket first, then connect the blower.

Do I need a ground sheet for the bouncy castle?

No, the bouncy castle rental includes a blower, a ground sheet, and an entrance mat for children’s shoes.

Can I add items to my order later?

To keep things simple for both parties, we ask that you place a new order. As we do not charge a deposit, there is no disadvantage to you.

Where and how can I cancel my order?

Cancellations are generally only possible at the discretion of Spielkistl. You may request a cancellation by email at spielkistl@lra-ebe.de. The decision rests with Spielkistl. Please note that bad weather is not considered a sufficient reason for general cancellation of bookings.

In the past, short-notice cancellations have not only resulted in significant loss of revenue but also prevented other customers from accessing the equipment.

Does cancelling cost anything?

No. If the cancellation is approved by Spielkistl, the full amount will be refunded.

Can I also return my play equipment in the evening?

Spielkistl is open from Friday to Monday from 08:00 until 11:00. Returns are possible from 08:00 until 09:30. Other collection and return times are not possible.

I placed an order but did not receive a confirmation email.

In this case, please email spielkistl@lra-ebe.de.

What do I need for the popcorn machine, and how much is required?

For the popcorn machine, you will need sugar, oil (we recommend rapeseed oil due to its low odour), and popcorn kernels. For every two parts popcorn kernels, you need one part sugar and one part oil. Our measuring spoons will help with portioning.

One pack of popcorn kernels is more than sufficient for a children’s birthday party.

What should I do if I notice something is wrong with my order?

With the high volume of bookings, mistakes can occasionally happen. In such cases, please contact the Spielkistl team by 11:30 a.m. at 0151/55058709.

Does all tableware and all catering items arrive clean and ready for immediate use?

We make sure that all equipment from the “catering” category is returned to us clean. However, we cannot guarantee that the borrowed items meet your individual standards. Each customer is responsible for cleanliness during their event.
